The World Changed Forever 17 Years Ago

Today, Tuesday September 11th marks the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. As they’ve done every year since the terrorist attacks that changed the world, thousands of people gather in New York City, Washington, DC and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. This is in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 people killed when hijacked jetliners crashed into the World Trade Centre, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania on 11 September 2001. In New York City, a ceremony will take place at the 9/11 Memorial where mourners have gathered every year since the attack for the annual reading of victims’ names. (The Canadian Press)
