Woman Wanted In Fraud Investigation

The Ottawa Police Service is asking for help from the public in identifying a woman wanted in a suspected fraud case. On March 31 at approximately 9 pm, a woman approached a man at the Mackenzie King Bridge entrance to the Rideau Centre. The female convinced the male to make a donation to an unknown charity. The male was subsequently led to an ATM to withdraw money. Once he had entered his PIN, he was moved aside by the female and she proceeded to remove an unauthorized amount of cash from his account. It is believed the victim was targeted due to his cognitive disability. The suspect is described as an Asian female, approximately 35 years old with a small build.  She was wearing black pants and a black jacket.  Anyone with information is asked to call Ottawa Police at 613-236-1222, ext. 5166. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477.
