[Video] Second Annual Mayor For A Day Contest Now Open To Grades 9 to 12 Students

The second annual Mayor for a Day contest officially launches today. Do you think you have what it takes to work alongside Mayor Jim Watson? It’s not an easy job, but it will be a fun day that you’ll never forget, filled with community events, meetings and media interviews. In fact, reporters will definitely want to speak to you, so we hope you aren’t camera shy!

So how do you get to be Mayor for a Day? If you’re a student in grades 9 to 12, tell us what you love most about Ottawa. The mayor’s office wants you to send in your two best ideas for making the city even better! You can either submit a written essay or send us a video(link is external). Two students will be chosen to follow Mayor Watson for an entire day this spring. ‘Mayor for a Day’ would look impressive on any resume!
