[Video] R.I.P. June Foray -The “Female Mel Blanc”

If you grew up in the 1960s & 70s and watched cartoons on TV, the name June Foray might not be familiar to you, but her voice probably was! June Foray, who gave voice to Rocky the Flying Squirrel and hundreds of other cartoon characters has died in a Los Angeles hospital. She was 99. The cause of death was cardiac arrest, but she’d been in fragile health ever since a car accident two years ago. June was the best-known woman among the voice actors of her day. She was sometimes known as the “female Mel Blanc. June’s clients included Warner Bros., Disney, Hanna-Barbera and other animation studios. June Foray had over 300 credits as a voice actress, most recently doing one last turn as Rocky in a 2014 short. R.I.P.
