While doing research for an upcoming edition of The Lounge, I came across this interesting short film by The National Film Board about teen phenomenon, Paul Anka. It’s a black & white, 26-minute documentary short, providing some insight to Paul Anka’s early career with great footage of his stage shows and backstage activity, complete with screaming fans and some candid remarks from the young star and his manager regarding the way pop stars were promoted in the day.
It’s a fascinating piece and it’s on YouTube if you want check it out. It’s called “Lonely Boy”. Click on the link below.
