A family member says two Ottawa couples who were trapped in a Bahamas home during Hurricane Dorian are safe.
The Citizen reports, Doctors Denis Dudley and Sharyn Laughlin, who own a home on one of the badly battered Abaco islands, and their friends Christine and Doug Wyatt, had been out of contact since Sunday afternoon.
At last word, they were sheltering in an attic room after the hurricane tore off part of their roof and flooded their home.
In a Facebook post this morning, Kristin Dudley said both couples are safe and more details would come.
The families of the couples were desperately trying to find news of them after losing contact during the hurricane over the weekend.
Laughlin, a dermatologist, owns Laserderm, and her husband Dudley, a retired obstetrician and gynaecologist, were at their home at Treasure Cay on the island when the Category 5 hurricane hit over the weekend.
