To Laugh Or Cry

Growing up, I loved Tim Conway, I honestly think everyone did.  Tim had funny down….he knew comedy….you just saw him and you knew something funny was about to happen.

I still think to this day Tim Conway is the only man who can make me laugh that much.  No matter the skit, no matter the scenario, I had tears rolling down my face before he left the stage.

My favorite thing about Tim Conway was the way you never knew what he would do or say next.  That was what made him funny.  That, and how he kept his co-workers in stitches as well.

That was when comedy was funny…..it wasn’t off color humor, it wasn’t demeaning, it was just that one guy who made you laugh by being naturally funny.

The other thing that was naturally funny about him was that way Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, Lyle Wagner or even Vicky Lawrence couldn’t keep a straight face with him.

Tim was all things funny, comedy, humor…..in fact, look comedy up in the dictionary and it will be his picture.  Well not really but it should be.

I know everyone dies, it happens, it’s part of life but it doesn’t make it any easier when it’s one of your absolute favorites, like Tim Conway was to me and many more fans out there.

Tim Conway died yesterday at the age of 85.  According to a spokesperson, the cause of death was a disorder in which there is an excess of fluid on the brain.

His wife and daughter were at his side when he passed.

Conway won three Emmys for co-starring in “The Carol Burnett Show,” which ran from 1967 to 1978, and a fourth as a member of its writing team.
He also briefly headlined his own variety series and co-starred in several Disney live-action comedies during the ’70s, such as “The Apple Dumpling Gang” and “The Shaggy D.A.”
Before then, he starred as bumbling Ensign Charles Parker in the comedy “McHale’s Navy,” from 1962 to 1966 and just to many numerous things to mention a long the way.
Heaven has earned a good one and it’s now an even funnier place to be because rest assured he is keeping everyone laughing still.
RIP Tim Conway, thank you for always leaving us with not only a smile, but a laugh…..I may cry but I’m also left with a laugh when I remember you.
Side note….I know everyone remembers his dentist scene and more from Carol Burnett but hands down to me, the elephant scene is the best with his “snork”.
