The Tulips Are Blooming!

The NCC says the tulips are blooming!

Early season varieties are now starting to bloom, and most tulips will be at their peak over the next two weeks.

And you can follow their progress by checking out the Tulip Bloom Indicator.

This spring the NCC will showcase the “World Friendship” tulip.

Developed in France in 1988, this tulip, a mid-season tulip, is a soft creamy yellow colour — the symbolic colour of friendship

The NCC will showcase 30,000 World Friendship tulips.

Over the next couple of weeks tulips will brighten over 100 flower beds at 30 different sites around the city with the most spectacular beds located at Commissioners Park near Dows Lake.
