Switch From Winter Blend To Summer Gasoline Blend Means Another Hike At The Pump

According to Dan McTeague, a senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy.com, drivers should be prepared for another price hike in the price of gas in the coming days. He says the increase could be as high as four cents, pushing the price of a litre of fuel into the mid $1.30 range locally. McTeague told a Toronto radio station, “The increase that we will see beginning after April 3 or 4, right up until about the 11th of April, is known as the switch over from winter blends of gasoline to summer blend.”

He also offered some advice to consumers searching for cheaper gas. One suggestion is to avoid filling up earlier in the day and wait until late in the evening. As McTeague explains, “A gasoline station offering fuel in the morning or up to noon for 130.9, might drop that as low as $1.21 or 122.9 after 7:o’clock in evening. Consumers are always better to buy late evening, more so on the weekends.”
