I find it’s been a hard winter for a lot of local businesses having to close their doors, this really makes me sad.
A few great businesses come to mind from the Carlingwood Family Restaurant who has been there forever to my heart and soul, Wasabi in the Byward Market : ( Market Organics is also closing up shop in the Byward Market and moving it all into their parent shop Rainbow Foods on Richmond Road end of April and Walkley Bowl is another recent closure that comes to mind.
My heart breaks for all these great businesses who try so hard but sometimes the cards just don’t deal the right hand 🙁
So let’s all get out and support our great local record stores in the area for National Record Day tomorrow!!!
I used to love going to CD Warehouse on this day and see what goodies Janice and the gang would have cooked up. Even if they didn’t, you could bet that I would spend a good chunk of the change there, I really do miss them. I have good memories there including meeting our very own Steve Boyton for the first time 🙂
Let’s not let another closure happen, let’s support local with The Odds & Sods Shoppe, I hear they are very similar to the late CD Warehouse. Compact Music is another good one and let’s not forget Legend Records…..so many great places and more I know I’ve missed.
Let’s celebrate and keep it local with Record Day tomorrow!!!
