Sugar Is Not So Sweet

It happens to us all right?  We get stressed and too much on the go and we forget to take care of ourselves and we starting adding up the pounds.  Yup this is what happened to me.  So what did I do about it?  I signed on again to Stronger Everyday Bootcamp.

Just before Christmas Codi, are you crazy….yes a little but it needed to be done and it is called the 25 Days Of Fitmas, all the Bootcamps you can do and a Meal Plan, how can I go wrong 🙂  But sometimes I get hungry between meals so I was doing veggie and fruit snacks til I talked to Georgie, the owner and trainer extraordinaire and found out, bad Codi, sugar is not your friend for weight loss.

Even if you think something might be good, for instance fruit yogurt or dried fruit, it’s got fruit in it so it’s gotta be  good right….wrong.

While yogurt may be low in fat, just one serving contains a whopping 19 grams of sugar while dried fruit might seem safe, most companies are adding extra sugar in with their dried fruit, making it as sweet as candy. Just 1/3 of a cup contains 24 grams of sugar.

Pasta sauce and BBQ sauce might be a good idea you’d think but not so much.  This one may come as a surprise, since pasta sauce is considered to be a savory food, but alas, it has loads of sugar hiding in it. For every half a cup of store bought pasta sauce you’re ingesting 12 grams of sugar. As for BBQ sauce, there’s a reason that those BBQ chicken wings are finger licking good…all that sugar it’s hiding. A 2 Tablespoon serving will set you back 13 grams of sugar.

Sugar all around is just bad, whether manufactured or natural in fruit, start eliminating the sugar-packed foods in your diet today. Not only will it help your weight but your body and your heart will both be in better shape for it too.

Don’t thank me, thank that smart cookie, but only sugar-free cookie, Georgie and Stronger Everyday Bootcamp 😉
