We’re Still Griping About Potholes In July!

Hard to believe we’re still taking about potholes at this time of year, but we are… Calls about “road traveled surface,” (or potholes) accounted for the city’s largest volume of complaints, by far, in almost every ward. Ottawa residents made nearly 25,000 road-surface-related calls between January and June of this year. That’s more than three times as many as the nearly 8,000 requests for pickup of “organics”. The rest of the top five include; calls for parking above the allowable limit; calls about vehicles in areas designated as fire routes or disabled parking spaces; and calls about garbage pickup. The most service calls came from two downtown wards; Rideau-Vanier and Somerset. Rounding out that top five were Kitchissippi, Capital and Barrhaven.
