There are at least 20 Starbucks locations across the Ottawa-Gatineau region. And I noticed there’s a new Starbucks location opening soon in the new Minto condo near the corner of Beachwood and the Vanier Parkway.
World-wide, Starbucks has made its latest and biggest outlets even bigger. A new 30,000 sq ft store just opened up in Shanghai. It’s the biggest outlet in the world to date. It features three coffee bars, the longest of which is 88 feet long. The outlet is also home to a tea bar, an Italian bakery, and a ceiling made of 10,000 handmade wooden hexagon-shaped tiles.
In case you were wondering, as of earlier this year there were just over 27,000 Starbucks stores around the world. The United States, with nearly 14,000 locations, had the largest number of Starbucks stores in the world by far. The country with the second largest number of Starbucks stores is China, with 3,000 stores across 136 cities. It’s estimated that a new Starbucks opens every 15 hours in China.
Only two other countries had more than one thousand Starbucks stores – Japan and Canada.
