Sidekick on “I Dream of Jeannie” Passes Away At 91

He was the comic sidekick on two old-school T-V sitcoms; “I Dream of Jeannie” and  “The Bob Newhart Show.”
Actor Bill Daily has passed away at the age of 91. A family rep says he died of natural causes in Albuquerque, New Mexico last week.  While Daily may not have been household name, he WAS a household face, becoming familiar to millions of baby-boomer viewers in the 1960’s and ’70s. Daily played  the funny sidekick to Larry Hagman’s Air Force Major Tony Nelson, on “Jeannie.” The show ran for five seasons, from 1965 to 1970, then aired for  many years in syndication. On “The Bob Newhart Show,” Daily played the nervous neighbor and airline navigator Howard Borden.(The Canadian Press)
