This Victoria Day long weekend, visitors to the Canada Agriculture & Food Museum will be able to learn all about wool by participating in various activities and demonstrations. Attend sheep shearing, sheep herding and sheepdog agility demonstrations.
You can also learn about carding and knitting, all important steps in the transformation of a raw fleece into wool. See a crafts person doing traditional finger-weaving or spin the quiz wheel and test your knowledge of fibers from various sources.
Visitors can also enjoy cooking demonstrations that feature goat cheese as well as watch a classic movie. And keep an eye out for Little Bo Peep, who still needs help finding her sheep!
(Note: The Sheep Shearing Festival will held on Saturday and Sunday, but not the holiday Monday of the long weekend)
