The Sens Mile Isn’t Really A Mile – It’s Not Even A Kilometer

The Ottawa Senator’s are hoping to back the Boston bruins into a corner with another win tonight. On the topic of Ottawa and the NHL play-offs… the Ottawa Sun employs a lot of people with enquiring minds and some of them were wondering about The Sens Mile – the party strip along Elgin Street. They wondered, just how long is Sens Mile? They didn’t just wonder. They went looking for answers. According to a Google Maps measurement, it’s roughly 830 metres, which isn’t a mile. It’s not even a kilometer. According to the City of Ottawa, the “Sens mile begins at Gladstone and ends at Laurier for a total of 9 intersections”. But wait… a tweet by Globe & Mail reporter, Les Perreaux, pointed out that it may be a return trip – 830 x 2 = 1,660 metres. Which is 1.03 miles! GO SENS GO!!!
