The Ottawa Senators are marking the official launch of the team’s 2017 Stanley Cup Playoff drive in a couple of ways. Two special kickoff events are scheduled for today. Sens Alumni Chris Phillips and Shaun Van Allen will visit A. Lorne Cassidy Elementary School in Stittsville at 2:30 this afternoon to host a playoff rally and also launch the “Sens In School” education program in conjunction with the Ottawa Senators Foundation. In addition, the Senators flag will be raised at City to declare the official opening of The Sens Mile. The Flag Raising takes place at the Heritage Building at Ottawa City Hall starting at 12:30 p.m. Mayor Jim Watson and other city officials will be there to help cheer on the Sens in their quest for the Stanley Cup.
The Ottawa Senators host the Boston Bruins tonight in game one of their first round NHL playoff series. Game time at Canadian Tire Centre is 7pm.
