The British are coming! Aviation fans in Ottawa-Gatineau will have a unique opportunity to see the Red Arrows take flight next Tuesday during the team’s 11-week deployment. The first public event of the tour will be a flypast of Parliament Hill, followed by an airshow performance and static display at the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport.
The flypast over Parliament Hill is tentatively scheduled to happen between 10:15 to 10: 30 AM on Tuesday, August 13th.
It’s the first time the British aerobatic Red Arrows have been to Canada and the US since 2008, with the deployment of the most ambitious tour of North America ever undertaken by the team. With stops across the continent, in addition to the Canadian stops, the tour comprises a combination of nearly 20 aerobatic displays, several iconic flypasts and 100 separate ground engagement activities – from business receptions led by the UK Department for International Trade to sessions aimed at inspiring young people. After visiting a number of cities in the US, the Red Arrows will return to Canada to appear at the Canadian International Airshow in Toronto over the Labour Day weekend.
If you plan to attend the special performance at the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport, gates will be open at 1 PM on Tuesday. The airshow will start at 2:15 PM. The Red Arrows will be on full public display at 3:30 PM, followed by a chance to meet the pilots at 4:10 PM.
