So many people have packed into downtown Toronto to watch the N-B-A champion Raptors’ victory parade that some subway stations near City Hall are being shut down due to overcrowding at street level.
Nathan Phillips Square and the area for blocks around is overflowing with people proudly wearing their Raptors’ gear, waving signs and championship banners.
Toronto police say all viewing areas along the parade route are close to capacity and they are urging fans to stay off the road so the open-top buses carrying the players can move along.
The crowds are so massive that point guard Fred VanVleet said the ground was literally shaking.
