Another sad loss for the entertainment world. Singer-songwriter Peter Sarstedt, best known for his song “Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)?” has died at age 75. The BBC confirmed the news yesterday. Sarstedt’s family said he died peacefully after a six-year battle with progressive supranuclear palsy, a rare neurological condition. “Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)?” was a number hit in the U.K in 1969 and shared the Ivor Novello award with David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” for best song composition. The song enjoyed a resurgence in popularity after director Wes Anderson’s use it in his 2007 film, ‘The Darjeeling Limited’. According to Peter Sarstedt’s official website, he retired from the entertainment industry in 2010 due to his health.
