It’s the city’s second murder of the year. Yesterday afternoon, a man in his 20’s was found with his throat slit outside the Jean Coutu pharmacy at 262 Montreal Road in Vanier. Police received the initial 911 call around 3:20 p.m. When first responders arrived, the victim was without vital signs. He was taken to the Ottawa Hospital’s trauma centre, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses reported seeing several men flee the area. Police later recovered what’s believed to be the knife used in the fatal stabbing. As of Thursday evening, there were no suspects in custody. However, police are said to be searching for several people who witnesses said were running from the scene. Police were also reviewing security footage from the drug store.
