Ottawa’s Most Collision Prone Intersection Is Bank Street & Heron Road

According to the City of Ottawa, there were 35 collisions at Bank Street and Heron Road in 2018, resulting in eight injuries, making it the most accident prone intersection in the city. That narrowly beat out the reigning worst intersection as Riverside Drive and Hunt Club had 34 collisions, seven of which resulted in injury.

The intersection with the most injuries during 2018 was Industrial Avenue/Innes Road and St. Laurent Boulevard with a total of 13 injuries. Overall for 2018, the worst day for collisions is Friday with a total of 2,541. January is the worst month for accidents followed closely by November.

According to the report, there were 27 road fatalities in the city, five fewer than the year before. Eleven of those killed were drivers, eight were pedestrians and one was a cyclist.
