Ottawa Senators Owner Reaching Out To Fans

Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk said it was “unfortunate” his comments about possibly moving the team last month if they didn’t get support didn’t sit well with the people of Ottawa.

Melnyk, on a media tour in Toronto this week said he is fortunate to own an NHL team.

After getting the green light to redevelop LeBreton Flats from the National Capital Commission last week, Melnyk is excited about the project.

He is going to Edmonton next week to see the new Rogers Place Arena.

Melnyk said he is determined to bring a Stanley Cup to Ottawa.

When asked if the team had what it takes to make the playoffs this year?

Melnyk said “No. We’re trying, but it’s kind of a longshot for us this year”.
