Ottawa Mayor, Jim Watson, was quick to Tweet about this earlier today. Maclean’s Magazine has just unveiled a list of the top-25 cities and towns that offer the best quality of life in Canada, and the City of Ottawa was ranked number 3.
Statistics like population size, regional unemployment rate, median household income, average household net worth, property tax, weather, crime severity, and family doctors per 100,000 residents were all factored into the survey.
Locally, Russell, Ontario was number 9 on the list. Ottawa was at number 3. Grimsby Ontario was at number 2, and the number 1 city or town offering the best quality of life in Canada was Burlington, Ontario.
19 of the 25 cities are in Ontario, 5 in British Columbia, and 1 in Alberta. None were located in Quebec, or the Maritime provinces.
