Fans of Elvis will be happy to know that a compilation of his gospel songs has just been released. Elvis Presley duets with his daughter Lisa Marie, on a newly revamped version of “Where No One Stands Alone,” the title track from the album. The two singers alternate and harmonize over piano and pedal-steel on the ballad, which, in its original form, appeared on Elvis Presley’s 1967 LP How Great Thou Art. The song has been paired with a video you can see below. It features family photos and in-studio footage of Lisa Marie Presley in the vocal booth. The footage was shot in studios in Nashville, Hollywood and New York.
In the meantime, an exhibit centred on the career of Lisa Marie Presley, and a launch party marking the release of the gospel songs album are among the highlights of this year’s Elvis Week in Memphis. Elvis Presley died on Aug. 16, 1977, in Memphis — 41 years ago. Since then, fans have been making a pilgrimage to Graceland to celebrate the King of Rock n’ Roll’s life, movies and music.
