What You Need To Know This Long Weekend

Because Canada Day falls on a Sunday this year, Monday is a statutory holiday. Most grocery stores and other retailers, such as malls, will be open Sunday (some with reduced hours) but closed on Monday, July 2. LCBO and most Beer Stores will be open on Sunday and closed on Monday. Banks will be closed on Monday as well and there will be no collection or delivery of mail. City hall and other government offices will be closed on both Sunday and Monday. Important note though – residential garbage and recycling collection will take place on its regular day with no changes to the collection schedule. All city parking regulations and restrictions will apply on July 1 and 2.

Also a reminder that  all beaches and splash pads will be open, weather permitting, and some outdoor and indoor pools and recreation centres will be open with modified schedules.  (local files)
