Most Common Superstitions

Is Friday the 13th a day when you want to stay in bed all day with your head under the covers for fear of what may happen?   Or are you one to to tackle the day head on, good or bad?  No matter what, the day many people consider unlucky will be over at midnight.

According to Woman’s Day magazine, we tend to have our fare share of superstitions.  Here  are some of the most common ones:

  • The number 13.
  • Black cats.
  • Breaking a mirror.
  • Walking under a ladder.
  • Throwing salt over your shoulder.
  • Opening an umbrella inside.
  • Saying “God Bless You” after a sneeze.
  • Carrying a rabbit’s foot.
  • Knocking on wood
  • Crossing your fingers
  • Horseshoes
  • Four-leaf clovers
