Milestone Year For Ottawa’s Pride Parade

It was billed as the biggest Pride parade in Ottawa’s history. Thousands of people gathered in gorgeous weather in downtown Ottawa for Sunday’s event, with some special guests helping make it a milestone year. Capital Pride made history by having a sitting prime minister march in this year’s parade, as Justin Trudeau walked down Bank Street with his two older children.  He was joined by by Ontario premier Kathleen Wynne and Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson. General Jonathan Vance also became the first Chief of Defence Staff to march in a Pride parade. (cbc, local files)
