Mental Health Does Not Discriminate

He’s been a football player, a wrestler and now an actor.  Women love him….men love him… look up to him.  He’s good looking, his movies are very successful at the box office and he’s just an all around nice guy.

Sounds like he has it all right and he appears to.  All that and mental health issues too because as we all know, illness and mental health does not discriminate and even someone who seemingly has it all, deals with it too.

The man in question is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who says it’s important to pay attention when other people are in pain.  Adding both he and his Mom both suffer from episodes of depression, including one where his Mother tried to commit suicide.

Johnson says his Mother jumped out of her car on a highway and walked toward oncoming traffic.  He grabbed her and pulled her away from the cars but says his Mom doesn’t recall any of that.

He has also had his own bouts with dark periods as well, after injuries derailed his dream to play pro football.

As we all know and as The Rock says again, “depression never discriminates.”
