Mayor Watson Says OC Transpo Will Not Follow New Quebec Law

Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson has written to Quebec Premier Phillippe Couillard to tell him OC Transpo will not follow a new Quebec Law that forces people receiving a public service to uncover their faces. OC Transpo buses cross the river to bring passengers to and from Gatineau. Mayor Jim Watson is dismissing the law as “a thinly-veiled appeal to populist sentiment.” Watson told the Quebec Premier. The City of Ottawa will not be a party to this infringement of constitutional freedoms.

Here’s a copy of the letter the Mayor sent to the Premier.
