Massive Townhouse Fire In Nepean

Ottawa Fire officials continue to investigate the cause of yesterday’s massive four-alarm fire at a row house complex on Northview Road in Nepean. The first emergency calls came in at around 12:30 pm, with reports of flames visible at 34 Northview Rd. There was also a significant amount of black smoke coming from the roof area that could be seen for kilometres. The flames affected four buildings and 42 residential units in the complex.  An emergency centre was set up at a nearby apartment building for an estimated 70 people who were displaced.  No one was injured and fire damage is upwards of 3 million dollars.
