Local E. Coli Case Linked To Romaine Lettuce

Ottawa Public Health has confirmed one local case of E. coli linked to an outbreak in Ontario, Quebec and several U.S. states involving contaminated romaine lettuce.The case was reported in late October. OPH hasn’t released much information about the case,  only that the patient is an adult under the age of 65. There are 18 confirmed cases of E. coli under investigation in Canada connected with romaine lettuce, including three in Ontario and 15 in Quebec. Six people were hospitalized after falling ill. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency recommends anyone with romaine lettuce should throw it out.  (local files)
