Local Author Does Good Telling Her Parents Love Story

Since we’re talking favorite authors today as your Question Of The Day, it’s only fitting to tell you about this local author who will quickly become one of your faves after reading her book, Meant To Be.

Roslyn Franken is a great and strong lady and she comes by it honestly, after reading her parents love story, you will see why.  In fact, her own survival of cancer at age 29 is credited to her resiliency inspired by her parents’ strengths in overcoming their struggles.

You see Rosyln’s parents love story is no ordinary story.  Roslyn’s mother, Sonja, survived the concentration camps in Nazi Europe. Her father, John, survived the Nagasaki atomic bomb as a prisoner of war in Japan. They survived years of captivity in opposite sides of the world in the most extraordinary of circumstances and found everlasting love in Montreal, against all odds.

Their incredible life saga is now being told by their daughter, in a book she wrote and multimedia presentation she delivers entitled, Meant to Be: A True Story of Might, Miracles and Triumph of the Human Spirit.

Roslyn is currently traveling across Canada and the United States telling her parents’ story to diverse audiences of all ages, cultures and religions including faith-based groups, schools, community events, retirement homes, corporations, service clubs and other groups.

She is also currently planning a high school speaking tour as Roslyn feels strongly that young people need to hear this story to learn from the past and be inspired for their future. With the aging population of WWII survivors, there will soon come a day where there will be no more survivors to tell their stories.

Her book is available through her website and Amazon.  And yes I have bought it and it’s in my pile of faves so give this local gal some love, you’ll be glad you did 🙂
