Who Knew You Could Carve Avocado Pits?

I always wondered about this… Who knew you could carve avocado pits? Jan Campbell was preparing an avocado for lunch one day when she was struck by the beauty of the pit inside, an object most of us just toss without a second thought. After weeks of pondering its potential, she set to work. Ever since, Jan, who hails from Ireland has been turning avocado pits (or ‘stones,’ as she calls them) into tiny, intricately detailed figurines inspired by Celtic folklore. I’ve posted some examples of her amazing work.

These miniatures can be simply displayed as statues, or worn as pendants. Jan says they are meant to provide the holder with a unique sense of companionship and comfort. Read more about it at boredpanda. http://www.boredpanda.com/carved-totems-avocado-stone-faces/
