Josh Groban has one of the best voices in the world, I’d even go as far as to say the universe even….something about the way he sings You Raise Me Up and Believe from The Polar Express just leaves you wanting more….he captures any song and just makes it his own. Have you heard his latest CD, Stages….his take on the musical numbers of Broadway….wowzers, its amazing!!
Josh has been showing off his talent in a musical in New York of late on Broadway with a show called Natasha, Pierre And The Great Comet of 1812 and unfortunately all good things must come to an end as he has announced his departure for July.
Josh originally studied acting but moved over to singing as his voice developed so jumping on board the Broadway musical was just a perfect combo for the young talent. But now unfortunately his time is coming to an end as July nears and Okieriete Onaodowan, the actor who gained notice as Hercules Mulligan in Hamilton will take over the roll. There is speculation whether the musical will continue its draw with out Groban in the role and while he, “Oak” has garnered his own following in his previous role, he doesn’t have the same profile as Josh so only time will tell.
Great Comet which has regularly grossed more than $1 million per week since it began performances in October, is heading into the race for the Tony Awards as a likely contender alongside Dear Evan Hansen, the fall season’s other big seller.
