In The Key Of Hank

Where were you when your Ottawa Redblacks led by Henry Burris went on to win Great Cup 2016?  I remember it well, we were in Toronto for our early staff Christmas party, we had come back to the room early to watch the last half, I kept trying to keep my eyes open as it was a bit past my bedtime at this point 😉  I managed to keep my eyes open for the last exciting 5 minutes and I would have been awake anyway with my husband yelling, “Yes!!  They did it!!  They won it!!”

I think we all remember that moment, that proud Canadian moment in our history when Henry Burris, the quarterback who beat the odds in every way, shape and form went on to wear his Grey Cup ring with pride and hoist the Cup in victory so its no surprise he adds the key to the city to his resume.

Mayor Jim Watson will present that Key to the City to Henry Burris at City Hall tonight at 7:30 in recognition of his outstanding contribution and dedication to professional sport and his community leadership and support for local charity.

Congrats Hank….well deserved and it’s only fitting since you already have the key to all our hearts here in the city.
