Onlookers are being drawn to a small cove in eastern Newfoundland to witness an iceberg with an unusual shape. The iceberg is nearly picture perfect, with a hollow archway carved in the middle. It appears to be grounded in waters near Upper Amherst Cove, off Bonavista peninsula.
Photographers have been sharing their shots of the ‘berg on social media, prompting people to flock to the area during this so-far lacklustre iceberg season. One iceberg tour company reports seeing fewer than 10 bergs — instead of the usual 40 or 50 — since Newfoundland’s prime iceberg season kicked off May 1st.
