I know how much my fur-babies mean to me and if anything happened to them, well nuff said, I can’t even.
The unfortunate part is while they may be our “children” they aren’t covered under our medical system with health benefits and they can’t just go see a doctor with their OHIP card.
So when a friend’s pet needs help, I’ll be the first one there to try and help, and such is the case with my friend Ashley.
Ashley is my friend I’ve known for a few years now from her great comedy work at Yuk Yuks…..but her latest situation is no laughing matter sadly.
On April 8th, their beloved puppy was playing outside and took a bite out of a neighbors thorn bush. Since then he’s been in an out of emergency vet clinics, unable to sleep, eat, or breath properly.
After many tests, the diagnosis is now known to be a punctured lung due to inhaling one of the thorns. There is air leaking out of his lungs and into his chest, which is preventing his lungs from fully expanding.
He is only a year and a half old, and otherwise in perfect health. The doctors are confident he will make a full recovery if he receives this surgery to remove the affected part of his lung. Due to his size and the urgency of this surgery it will be quite expensive.
They are asking for any help you can possibly offer to help save his life.
They’ve already paid a lot to cover X-Rays, pain meds and more and this money raised will be used to help off-set the cost of the actual surgery and the recovery time in the hospital.
They’ve had Clifton since he was 2 months old and he is such an important part of their family being that he is their only child and he is so loved.
If you can help, with any little thing, it’s greatly appreciated.
