Hello Fresh & Chefs Plate Meal Kits Containing Red Peppers Are Being Recalled

Following the recall of Canada Brand red chillies on January 21, Hello Fresh and Chefs Plate have recalled their products which contain the red chillies, over a possible risk of salmonella contamination. The Hello Fresh and Chefs Plate meal kits were sold in Ontario, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec.

The recalled products include:

-Hello Fresh brand Coconut Dal two person meal kit coded as WK19041920 with a best before date of January 29, 2019
-Hello Fresh brand Coconut Dal four person meal kit coded as WK19041920 with a best before date of January 29, 2019
-Chefs Plate brand Beef Chow Mein meal kit coded as January 19, 2019 (included in the 856 g kit and the 1712 g kit)
-Chefs Plate brand Beef Chow Mein meal kit coded as January 22, 2019 (included in the 856 g kit and the 1712 g kit)

Food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.

Canada’s Food Inspection Agency tells consumers the recalled products should be thrown out, or returned to the store where they were purchased. In the case of meal kits, consumers are advised to contact the distributor directly. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
