Have You Seen This Plant?

The Nature Conservancy of Canada says Ontario residents should be on the lookout for a dangerous plant when they’re outside this summer. The conservancy says giant hogweed has become one of Canada’s most dangerous plants as it poses a real human health concern. The non-native plant grows up to six metres in height and has large clusters of white flowers at the top. However, looks can be deceiving. Its clear, toxic sap can cause rashes, blistering, third-degree burns and even blindness if it touches the body and is then exposed to the sun. (The Canadian Press)
