Have you ever been in a grocery store and saw a child just carrying on. You look away and tsk, tsk the parenting or how spoiled that child is and so on, its something I think we’re all guilty of. But have we ever stopped to think that maybe it’s something more…like ADHD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
My new friend Terri showed me a video of her 7 year old son who recently got diagnosed, going through one of his what some might call, “temper tantrums” but it’s so much more than that with ADHD, it’s something that only someone going through it can understand and even then, do we really understand? Terri’s son has ADHD and on top of that, her son was also diagnosed with a Speech and Comprehensive Delay. It’s a situation which is difficult for any Mother or Father to go through when they don’t know the first place to start.
I’ve learned Terri has a ton of patience and has tried numerous ways to help her child and while none of it is easy, she has learned a lot and wants to share her knowledge and give back. Hence the reason she is holding a charity golf tournament in support of children with ADHD and mental health.
This golf tournament is taking place Sunday September 17th at Sandy Row Golf Course in South Mountain, just outside of Kemptville. Its a 9-hole day with dinner and prizes and more….you can either buy your golf day for $50 or just the dinner for $25 and it all supports this great cause.
