Forget Blue Monday… The Blue Meanies Are Coming Back in 2018

Yellow Submarine is heading back to cinemas across the U.K. later this year to celebrate 50 years since its initial release. The iconic 1968 film follows the Fab Four under the sea as they battle the music-hating Blue Meanies. The visually stunning film included classic Beatles hits like ‘Eleanor Rigby’ and ‘All You Need Is Love’. Yellow Submarine went on to become both critically acclaimed — it received a New York Film Critics Circle Special Award in 1968 — and warmly embraced by fans. Now, it’s been restored in glorious 4K animation and will be shown in Picturehouse Cinemas in the U.K. and Ireland for one night only on July 8th to mark its 50th anniversary. Let’s hope we’ll get a chance to share in the celebration of that psychedelic movie classic on this side of the Atlantic!
