An 88-year-old woman was able to escape and call 911 from a neighbour’s home after smelling smoke from a fire that broke out at her Old Ottawa East home late this morning.

At least three people were displaced in the blaze at 26 Concord Street North at Greenfield Avenue.

The Red Cross and Salvation Army are assisting those left homeless.
