Ottawa’s Josée Cyr is hoping the timing will be purrrfect for a new cat café in either the Glebe or in Hintonburg. Her plan is to open the cafe in the spring, complete with vegetarian-friendly eats, a selection of local artisanal coffee and, of course, cats… a half-dozen purring, cuddly cats. The Purrfect Café at Kind Space in Centretown, holds a cat meet-up with coffee and tea every second Thursday of the month, but the Josée’s Feline Café will be the first daily cat café in Ottawa. The location and opening date are yet to be determined, but Josée is hoping for a spring launch. She also plans to carry a selection of local coffee, with a vegetarian and vegan-friendly menu. She has has partnered with Strawberry Blonde Bakery, and also hopes to work out an arrangment with Happy Goat Coffee Co. As for the main attraction, Josée plans to pair with a local rescue to host a variety of different cat breeds from the rescue’s foster homes. Best of luck!
