It’s always sad losing someone you know and love and even when you don’t really know that person but still love them through their work, it’s sad. But when it comes to the amazing Steven Bochco, I do feel like I know him as I lived through him on all his amazing TV show like NYPD Blue, Hooperman, Hill Street Blues and the list goes on.
Maybe I feel like I know him more so too as I just devoured his autobiography, Truth Is A Total Defense: My 50 Years In Television. His story is so honest and chalk full of amazing stories of all the great shows he’s worked on and people he’s worked with like Dennis Franz, Jimmy Smits, Daniel Benzali, Anthony Lapaglia and so many more.
He talks about his first round with cancer and how he kept up the fight and how grateful he was after receiving his bone marrow transplant and went into remission, he remained so positive and continued what he did best, giving us the best TV shows he could like Murder In The First til 2014.
The creator of all of these great things and so many more like his fiction piece Death By Hollywood which you can find through Amazon, has died.
The family of Steven Bochco says the writer and producer died in his sleep Easter Sunday after a battle with cancer. He was 74 .
Bochco, who won 10 primetime Emmys, created several hit television shows including L.A. Law, NYPD Blue and Doogie Howser, M.D and Hill Street Blues which ran on N-B-C from 1981 to 1987.
Rest in peace to a brilliant mind who was never afraid to push that envelope, Steven Bochco you will be missed.
