Explosion And Fire In Gatineau

An explosion and fire caused a scare in Gatineau last night. Calls reporting a “violent explosion” came in around 8:30 p.m. to an apartment building 23 Soeur Jeanne Marie Chavoin.  Most of the building’s 400 residents managed to get out of the building safely by the time Gatineau firefighters arrived. The blaze was put out fairly quickly,  but not before causing 85 thousand dollars in damage and displacing one person. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and police have been called in to investigate.
