Expect Downtown Traffic Delays Today

Some traffic disruptions are expected this afternoon in the downtown area. This in light of a demonstration on Parliament Hill followed by a march. Participants will be march starting at approximately 1 p.m. to the Turkish Embassy  at 99 Cobourg Street in Lowertown. Ottawa Police will set up rolling road closures along the march route. The streets affected during the march include Wellington, Rideau and Cobourg.

The following road closures will be in effect between 10:00am to 4:30pm:
*       Wurtemburg Street  between Rideau and Heney
*       Heney Street between Wurtemburg and Cobourg.

It’s expected that the area of MacDonald Gardens Park will be impacted from about 2:00pm to 4:30pm. NO PARKING signs have been posted on residential streets immediately around the area. Commuters are asked to avoid the area or take an alternate route whenever possible. (OPS news release)
