I’m not gonna lie cancer scares the heck outta me!! More so Ovarian cancer as it’s the silent cancer….sneaks up on you with symptoms similar to other things and there are no tests to check for it.
If you think you’ve been checked for ovarian cancer, think again. There is no reliable screening test for this disease and no vaccine to prevent it.
Yet ovarian cancer is the most fatal women’s cancer in Canada. One in two women diagnosed do not live to see another five years.
All woman are at risk for developing Ovarian cancer so we need to raise awareness and find research into this scary disease.
Teal Fest do their part in an amazing way by holding many events to raise money towards Ovarian cancer research and awareness.
In fact, this weekend they have just such an event to help you do some Spring Cleaning and make room for more new stuff possibly.
It’s their E-Waste/Clothing Recycling and Garage Sale on Saturday May 11th from 8-4pm at the Ray Friel Recreation parking lot, at 1585 Tenth Line Road in Orleans.
You bring it and they dispose of it and while you’re there, visit their garage sale and buy something with all proceeds going to Ovarian Cancer Research.
Win-win while you unload stuff and help out a great cause!!
