A few weeks ago, Rideau Hall opened it’s doors to the public to show itself off from the inside out. If you missed that opportunity, not to worry, they’re kinda continuing the trend.
You can visit the residence and tour the grounds and start your visit at the Visitor Centre to learn more about the roles and responsibilities of the governor general, as well as the history of Rideau Hall. That runs until September 4th, daily from 10am to 4pm.
You can also take a tour of the State rooms, where Canadians are honored and dignitaries are welcomed. Guided tours are free of charge and are offered daily, including on statutory holidays. These run until June 27 on weekends, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Daily from 10am to 4:30pm from June 28th to September 3rd with reservations required.
And finally you can stroll through the grounds of Rideau Hall at your leisure and explore the paths along the flowerbeds and gardens of this urban oasis. Bring a picnic and enjoy the play structure with your children. This is on year round and open 8am until one hour before sunset.
