Imagine A World Without Polar Bears And Monarch Butterflies

Polar bears and the Canadian monarch butterfly are now on an international list of species at risk of vanishing from the planet. The list is part of a new report released yesterday at an international biodiversity conference in Ottawa. It highlights another 517 species and subspecies found in Canada that are considered vulnerable or on the verge of extinction. Of those, more than 200 are found only in Canada, leaving this country solely responsible for ensuring they don’t get wiped off the face of the earth. (BN)
